LAKETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Felt Estate near Saugatuck is celebrating the Halloween season with a family-friendly haunted tour and trick-or-treating through the mansion.

“The mansion is decorated for Halloween,” Felt Estate Executive Director Elizabeth McEwen said. “There are some creepy touches in decor.”

Built in 1928, The Felt Estate has become a popular spot for “ghost hunters” and community events during and around Halloween, especially considering the macabre history and demise of its original inhabitants: Dorr and Agnes Felt.

“By the time construction finished … Agnes passed away six weeks later,” McEwen said. “She is one of the confirmed deaths that we know about on the property.”
